With a clever engine design carried over directly from Valentino Rossi’s Factory YZR-M1, the Yamaha R1 offers linear acceleration and power throughout its entire powerband. The new 2009 model boasts sharper steering thanks to Yamaha’s twin-spar deltabox frame and swingarm, and features such as adjustable throttle response and independent damping forks make the R1 one of the most impressive sport bikes on the market. Much like Suzuki’s “A, B, & C†engine management system, Yamaha offers its “D-mode†as a new feature for the 2009 year, allowing the rider to select a mode that best suits their riding style on the fly. Improved suspension allows for even better cornering, and power delivery is seamless with almost no vibration throughout the rev range. All in all, the R1 is an excellent used motorcycle that will hold its value for years to come
