Vehicle Description
If you wished to own a fabulous, ultra-luxury German car in the 1930’s, chances are that there was a top-of-the-line model of a Mercedes-Benz or Maybach which would appeal to you. Following the devastation in Germany during WWII, Mercedes-Benz rebounded with a complete line of luxury cars while Maybach never returned, with Mercedes-Benz then owning the name. In 2005, Mercedes-Benz reintroduced the badge with a pair of ultra-luxury models, the “Model 57”, meant to be owner-driven, and the, “Type 62”, meant to be chauffeur-driven. In 2005, we sold two “57’s”, one to Moscow and one to a many-car repeat customer here in Gladstone. The Gladstone customer enjoyed his car to such a degree, that he traded it in on a new 2008 model when they came out with a more powerful engine and some other improvements for that year. The Maybach joined his collection of Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Ferrari, AMG Mercedes and other cars, each of which received consistent, but minimal, use over the years.
We are now privileged to sell this incredible automobile from the owner’s estate. Finished in deep Caspian Black with California Beige Grand Nappa leather and Burl Walnut interior trim, the car was also ordered with rear compartment side curtains, active heated and ventilated seats–front and rear (also multi-contour with massage features) retracting folding tables to the rear compartment, Solar Module Power Cabin Ventilation–all in addition to the incredible safety features of 10 cabin airbags and all expected accessories. Power is provided by its V12, twin turbocharged, intercooled engine with 664 lb-ft Torque and comfort and luxury features which are astounding (such as the 600 watt, 21 speaker Bose sound system, the LCD COMMAND system controlled from front or rear cabins, the instrumentation built into the roof in the rear compartment, etc.). The car has been driven just 6,017 miles since being delivered new. |
