Vehicle Description
This very special two-passenger retractable hardtop coupe is a local one-owner showing just over 40,000 pampered miles. The XLR was a unique offering from Cadillac, from its rear mounted 6-speed automatic transmission to its fully retractable hardtop and stunning low, wide stance, this car stands out from the crowd.
Nestled under the hood sits a powerful 4.6LV8 rated at 320HP with 310 ft./lbs. of torque, the 6-speed automatic overdrive transmission is mounted at the rear of the car resulting in something very close to a 50/50 weight distribution. GM designed the chassis utilizing “steel hydroformed” frame rails, “balsa-colored” composite flooring and an “aluminum structured” cockpit all providing improved strength and rigidity.
The “Corvette-Like” suspension is of the Magnetic Ride Control variety which was re-tuned for the XLR providing “magnetic-fluid based real time dampening” to improve ride and agility. Connecting the car to the ground are 18” chrome aluminum wheels on performance radials, 4-wheel power disc brakes, and sport tuned exhausts with stainless tips to complete the experience.
The retractable roof structure is made of aluminum and magnesium with composite panels, resulting in a durable and lightweight roof assembly.
The interior is just as impressive with eucalyptus wood trim and aluminum accents, heated and cooled power leather seats, “Heads-Up” display, Bose 9-speaker audio system, remote entry, heated tilt steering wheel, speed control, and a 7” screen for the DVD, On-Star Navigation/Entertainment system.
This car has been extremely well cared for by its former owner, the interior and exterior finishes are exceptionally nice as this car has spent most of life safely indoors. It is one of the nicest examples we have had the pleasure of offering.
