Vehicle Description 2002 Toyota Tacoma SR5 Crew Cab 4x4 Pickup Don't think the Tacoma is tough? We'll settle this...outdoors. You better know what you're getting into. The 2002 Tacoma is one of the most unbreakable compact trucks this side of the Rockies. Other side too. Built on a strapping ladder frame chassis with one piece frame rails, Tacoma's punch is delivered courtesy of a formidable lineup of engines. Think you've got what it takes? Tacoma's ready when you are. Count on it. Courtesy of the 2002 Tacoma sales brochure For consignment, a 2002 Toyota Tacoma SR5 crew cab pickup truck with a title verified 88,680 actual miles, a one owner truck that's been dealer maintained over the years and has a unique paint scheme that includes ghost flames and a tailgate mural. This generation Tacoma is among some of the most sought after trucks on the market, so read fast, then give us a call! Exterior Based in Radiant Red, that's where the standard coverage ends. Ghost flames lick over the entire hood and onto the side of the truck, so subtle you might miss them from a distance. Less subtle is a linear graphic that runs from the front door and kicks up to trail along the tailgate, a 2002 nod to some era décor. At the end of the tailgate on each side reads Life's too short to drive ugly trucks in silver paint and the tailgate depicts a full color beach scene featuring a 1930's Ford pickup truck in red. Other visual enhancements that are more functional include rain guards on the windows, black fender flares, and running boards.  The bed has a matching hard cover that flips up to reveal a bed that has been used and is therefore usable.  Rugged 16-inch wheels carry 265/75R16 all terrain tires. The exterior has been well cared for and aside from usage evidence in the bed, we could not find any exterior imperfections. Interior Gray molded plastic meets cloth inserts four doors that have held up very well and are virtually flawless in presentation.  Tall cloth bucket seats in front flank a center console with a tall storage bin stacked over a second and while the driver's side suffers a tear and wear at the entry point, the back bench looks showroom fresh. A fairly standard cockpit features a basic steering wheel in front of white faced gauges, attractive and easy to read framed by black plastic. The center stack contains the factory AM/FM/Cassette/CD radio under the triple dial climate panel above two 12 volt receptacles. The shifter is Toyota's straight stick design and it resides next to the range selector in a gray leather boot, showing minimal patina. The gray carpet and headliner are both in great shape as are the visors with built in extensions. Drivetrain Under the hood, a dusty, driver quality 3.4 liter DOHC V6, fuel injected and tied to a 4-speed automatic transmission that transfers power to 4.10 in back, splitting with 4.10 in back when needed. Power brakes are onboard with front discs and rear drums. Undercarriage There is copious amounts of surface rust, especially on the back half but nothing of the invasive nature. A film of residual oil is on the pan, but does not appear to be actively leaking. Beyond that, typical condition and configuration of a loved on truck with 88,000 miles. A single exhaust wears a stock style muffler and suspension consists of double wishbone independent in front and leaf springs in the rear. Drive-Ability Stepping up into the high cabin affords great views with an open greenhouse that lacks major blind spots. We start the V6 and run this reliable ride onto the test loop where it tracks straight and provides adequate power and the knobby tires are only slightly louder than all seasons. As one would expect from Toyota, all functions inside and out work as intended. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time |
