Sharpening the ML55’s handling and responsiveness are stiffer springs and shocks plus a larger front anti-roll bar-along with AMG-spec five-spoke cast alloy wheels shod with 285/50WR16 Dunlop SP Sport 9000 tires. This 4653-pound all-season intimidator also gets massively oversize front and rear disc brakes with ABS and M-B’s Brake Assist.Visually, the ML55 typifies all AMG-tweaked Mercedes offerings. Purposefully understated, it sports more aggressive front/rear fascias, bulgy fender flares, unique rocker panels and the aforementioned bespoke wheels and tires along with Xenon headlamps, integrated foglamps, classic M-B “power domes” on the hood, and dual chrome exhaust outlets. Interior highlights include deeply bolstered sport buckets, white-faced instruments, and a new integrated NAV/audio system.
